The 2024 Metropolitan Beer Trail passport, linking 11 of Washington, DC’s most popular local craft breweries and bars, is returning for its third year with new prizes, a new participating location, and even more fun and surprises. Starting on April 27, 2024, Metropolitan Beer Trail passport holders can begin checking in at these 11 locally owned breweries and bars, all walkable or bikeable from the Metropolitan Branch Trail:

The Metropolitan Beer Trail promises an unforgettable exploration of Northeast DC’s brewing heritage and innovative craft beer culture. Located adjacent to the Metropolitan Branch Trail near where the historic Schlitz Brewing Company warehouse once stood, the Metropolitan Beer Trail showcases a diverse array of small, locally owned brew pubs and bars, each with its own distinctive flavors and atmosphere.

The 2024 Metropolitan Beer Trail program features a prize-incentivized, points-based system. Starting April 27, 2024, passport holders will earn 100 points each time they check in at any of the 11 participating Metropolitan Beer Trail locations. Points can be redeemed for the following prizes:

• Metropolitan Beer Trail koozie (400 points)


• Metropolitan Beer Trail baseball cap (800 points)


• Metropolitan Beer Trail 2024 commemorative t-shirt (1,600 points)

With the opportunity to revisit all participating locations and check in multiple times throughout the 2024 Metropolitan Beer Trail Season (April 27 – December 31), passport holders can complete the Trail at their own pace, redeem for prizes at various thresholds, and/or continue to accrue points throughout the season.

At the close of the 2024 program on December 31, the passport holder who has earned the most points throughout the season and checked in at least once at all 11 participating locations will be recognized as the “MBT MVP” and will receive $25 gift cards to each of the 11 participating locations, a prize valued at $275.
