Fall Break at President Lincoln's Cottage

A week of family fun at Lincoln's summer home

Daily, Oct 10, 2025 - Oct 13, 2025. 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Lincoln family typically left the Cottage to return to the White House in the fall. They came to the Cottage to be together, away from the public eye. This Fall Break, we invite you and your family to the Cottage to spend time together.

Enjoy a week full of family-friendly activities at the Cottage!

  • Fall Break Family Tours - Our Signature Cottage Tour aimed specifically at a younger audience. This tour is filled with lots of inquiry, discussion, and discovery. Noon; October 9-13

  • Rocknoceros Concert - Bring your little ones for a rockin'-good time with local kids' music legends, Rocknoceros! Friday, October 10; Adult admission included with child ticket.

  • Lincoln's Wild Home - A self-guided audio tour that invites to to connect with nature and understand why the Lincoln's loved this place so much. 9:30-4:30; Daily; Discounted tickets available to Family Tour Ticket Holders (purchase onsite)

  • Crafting Connection - Make yourself at home in our crafting space. Create a postcard for a future visitor and take one home yourself!

Did You Know? Unlike many other historic house museums, your family can sit on the furniture, touch the walls, and lounge in Lincoln's parlor. We actually invite them to explore the space using (almost) all their senses!

All ages are welcome and strollers can be stored in our Visitor Education Center during the tour.
