Washington Improv Theater’s elimination tournament lets audiences vote which improv team advances one step closer to the championship.
FIST is Washington Improv Theater's bracketed improv comedy competition similar to basketball's March Madness (except with more madness). Essentially, teams advance based on the number of votes cast in their favor by the audience. The further they go, the closer they get to claiming the highly coveted FIST trophy.
There are 71 teams and 265 players signed up to compete in FIST 2025. Learn about them HERE. All told, there are 40 performance blocks spread out over five weeks. At the end of each match, one of WIT's hilariously funny ensembles will perform while the votes are counted.
WHEN AND WHERE: The tournament will take place Thursdays to Sundays from March 20 to April 19 at Studio Theatre on 14th St. NW in the Milton space on the 2nd floor.
