The Right Stuff

NASM's 50th Anniversary Film Series

Jan 26, 2026. 6:30PM

The Right Stuff (1983), the epic historical drama about Chuck Yeager breaking the sound barrier and the birth of NASA's Project Mercury, is the perfect movie to launch a yearlong film festival celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Museum's building on the National Mall. The movie will be introduced by Space History department chair Margaret Weitekamp and Project Mercury artifact curator Emily Margolis.
