The Mary McLeod Bethune Statue Lincoln Park commemorates educator and activist Mary McLeod Bethune. The National Council of Negro Women, which she founded, raised the funds for this monument. It is the first monument to honor a black woman in a public park in Washington, DC.

The closest WMATA Metro stop is the Green Line's Anacostia stop. From there take the 90 bus to 8th and East Capitol St. The Orange and Blue lines can also be used by taking the N22 bus from the Eastern Market Metro Station to the Union Station terminal. From there take the 97 bus to East Capitol and 13th St.
