Engage with the Bible at Museum of the Bible, one of Washington, D.C.’s newest museums! This 430,000-square-foot building just three blocks from the U.S. Capitol provides an immersive and personalized experience as guests explore the history, narrative and impact of the Bible.

On the History of the Bible Floor, visitors discover the Bible's history, from handwritten scrolls to mobile devices, as it was embraced by many communities with different traditions. Hundreds of artifacts document the Bible's preservation, translation and transmission across the centuries, including early papyrus fragments of the New Testament, the De Bohun Book of Hours and Psalter, a beautifully illuminated medieval manuscript, and pages from the Gutenberg Bible, the first-ever printed Bible.

The Stories of the Bible Floor invites visitors to walk through the stories of the Hebrew Bible, immerse themselves in first-century Nazareth, and listen to the story of how the followers of Jesus became a thriving community. The adventure and drama of the Bible comes to life in riveting presentations!

The Impact of the Bible Floor explores the Bible's influence in many familiar though often surprising places, including arts, science, government, education and American culture. Visitors also experience the Bible's dynamic presence in a spectacular live feed of global data.
