International marketplace to provide big economic impact to Washington, DC

(Washington, DC) – Destination DC, the lead destination marketing organization for Washington, DC, has selected Linder, Inc. as its project management agency of record for IPW 2017.

IPW, the travel industry’s premier international marketplace and the largest generator of travel to the U.S., will take place in Washington, DC in June 2017 for the very first time in the event’s 40-plus year history. More than 1,300 international and domestic buyers from more than 70 countries conduct business negotiations during this four-day trade show, resulting in more than $4.7 billion in direct bookings to U.S. destinations over the next three years.

Linder, a global events agency headquartered in Washington, DC, has more than 250 years of collective experience in event planning within conference and destination management industries constructing world-class events.

“IPW 2017 will highlight Washington, DC as a world-class destination providing significant exposure to our city in the upcoming years,” said Elliott L. The additional visitation and spending will add an incremental $182 million in state and local tax revenues over the three-year period.

“We are excited to partner with Destination DC to showcase our city to a valuable global audience. By executing topline events during IPW, together we will ensure a positive impact for years to come,” said Rebecca Linder, founder and CEO of Linder. “This is the perfect platform to position Washington DC as a competitive events destination.”
