2026 National Memorial Day Parade

National Memorial Day Parade: Honoring Heroes with a Century of American Military History

May 25, 2026. 1 p.m.

On Memorial Day, our Nation's capital was without a parade for more than 60 years. The Parade began with the dedication of the National World War II Memorial - Memorial Day weekend, 2004. In 2005, the American Veterans Center reinstated the tradition of “THE National Memorial Day Parade.”

Today, the National Memorial Day Parade serves as the largest Memorial Day remembrance in the United States. It is presented as a moving timeline of American military history, honoring our fallen heroes from the American Revolution to today. This Memorial Day, more than 300,000 attendees gathered in remembrance of our Nation's fallen on Constitution Avenue.

From all 50 states, 5,000 participants march in the parade, including dozens of high school bands, reenactors, celebrities, and, of course, the families of our fallen heroes. The Parade is streamed live online, then televised to more than 100 million homes across the United States on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, and CW stations, along with worldwide to every military installation and Navy ship at sea on American Forces Network.

It is then repurposed for an Independence Day television special titled, 'Our Sacred Honor: An American Salute,' doubling its television impact to millions across the country
