The Capitol Visitor Center is the main entrance to the U.S. Capitol and is located below the East Front plaza of the Capitol between Constitution and Independence Avenues.
The 18.5-mile trail winds along the Virginia side of the Potomac River between Theodore Roosevelt Island and George Washington's home at Mount Vernon, with scenic view of Old Town Alexandria and the alluring Dyke Marsh along the way
