Destination DC (DDC) has two upcoming member events that will contain valuable information and resources for you as DC continues to recover from COVID-19. Please make sure you have registered for our April 20 event, Spring Into Data: Prepping for Recovery, which will feature a deep dive into national economic conditions with Tourism Economics and a regional hotel performance update and forecast from STR. On May 5, we’ll host our annual Travel Rally from Audi Field to discuss what’s ahead for the city. Please be on the lookout for an invitation to this virtual event.
Make sure to check washington.org for the latest travel status updates and what’s open and reopening in the city. Please note the updated guidance from Mayor Muriel E. Bowser that will go into effect on May 1, which allows for regional business meetings and conventions to take place at 25% capacity indoors and outdoors, museums and non-essential retail to operate indoors and outdoors at 50% capacity and seated live entertainment to operate at 25% capacity (up to 500 people).Indoor sports venues are now able to welcome guests back at 10% capacity.
With all of this in mind, DC needs everyone in our community to pre-register for a vaccination appointment by going to vaccinate.dc.gov or calling 1-855-363-0333. If you’re already vaccinated or pre-registered, please reach out to friends, family, coworkers and neighbors and help them pre-register. Together, we can save lives and end this pandemic.
