Dear Members,
Know that we remain committed to promoting all there is to see and do during a potential government shutdown. We are monitoring closely and are ready to share the DC is Open campaign across all advertising, content and editorial channels if needed.
Messaging will encompass everything to do this spring, including one of the city’s most beloved events. The National Cherry Blossom Festival takes place from March 20 – April 13 with peak bloom predicted for March 28-31. We can’t wait to be a part of the country’s biggest springtime celebration. There will also be frequent promotion of hotel packages and deals connected to WorldPride DC 2025 (May 17 – June 8) as the event draws closer.
Seasonal excitement doesn’t stop there. DC successfully hosted the Colonial Athletic Association’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships at CareFirst Arena and the city welcomes the Atlantic-10 Men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament to Capital One Arena this week. The Washington Nationals celebrate its 20th anniversary with a March 27 home opener. Last but certainly not least, we’ve got our eyes on the first-place Washington Capitals and Alex Ovechkin as the Great Eight chases Wayne Gretzky’s NHL all-time goal-scoring record.
As the District celebrates Women's History Month, be sure to engage with our content that commemorates the many contributions women have made to our city and country.
Kindly,
Elliott L. Ferguson, II
